Summary:

One of the finest rides in the area! Spectacular views mixed with some of the best singletrack that you can find. The Kingsbury Rim Trail is a more technically advanced trail with sections of granite steps and drops. Great for full suspension bikes. This one should not be missed.

How to get there:

• From the Tahoe area head to the south shore and take hwy 207 (Kingsbury Grade) to North Benjamin which is the last left before the top. From the Reno/Carson city area take I-395 south to US 50. Take US 50 up over Spooner summit. Drop off a car at the trailhead park on the left just before the summit if you are going to ride the ride "point to point". Follow Us 50 south towards Stateline to hwy 207. Take a left on 207 to North Benjamin which is the last left before the top. Once on North Benjamin, follow the road for a couple miles until it ends in a parking area just before a steep paved hill. This is the Tahoe Rim trail head.

First tough section. Series of steps with a nasty little fall to the downward side.

The left hand trail leads to a view are, the main trail continues to the right.

2.05 mi.

Tricky section, easier to ride down than up.

3.10 mi.

Tight switchback with a short section of loose rocky trail.

3.91 mi

Carry a little speed if you try to ride this section. Nasty little drop off to the left of the trail.

4.18 mi.

Watch for the loose sand spread over the granite in this spot.

5.16 mi

Go straight across the road. Last climb before the bench, be prepared for some tire puncturing shale near the top.

6.47 mi.

Yeah! Best view in the whole basin! Take a nice little break at the bench and marvel how good life is right at this moment.

8.68 mi.

Cross the road. There is about 4 miles of smooth singletrack left. This part of the trail can be heavily used, especially at the switchback section near the end of the trail.
